With a two-week free trial to Ancestry®, you'll have access to everything that comes with a paid membership.
Ancestry has four membership types: UK Essentials, UK Premium, UK Worldwide, and All Access. When you start a free trial, you choose a type of membership and decide how often you'd like it to renew (monthly or every six months). The membership you choose for the free trial will be the membership your trial turns into after two weeks. For this reason, we ask for a form of payment to set up a free trial. If you cancel your free trial during the two free weeks, your trial will end immediately, and you will not be charged.
Starting a free trial
Start a free trial
- Select a membership type and duration and click Start free trial. If you choose a monthly membership, your paid membership will begin after your two-week trial and renew monthly. If you choose a six-month membership, your paid membership will begin after your two-week trial and renew every six months.
- If you have an Ancestry account, click Sign in and sign in to your account. If don't, fill out the information in the New Account section and click Save and continue.
- Select credit/debit cards, PayPal, or Apple pay and enter your payment information.
- Enter your billing address and click Proceed to checkout.
- Review your information and click Order now.

Cancelling a free trial
To avoid being charged, cancel your free trial within two weeks of the date your trial begins.
Go to account settings
In the Membership section, click Cancel free trial and follow the directions to cancel. For step-by-step details, see Cancelling a Membership.
